Just found out I’m prediabetic while 8 weeks pregnant
I just got the call today from my midwife informing me that I have prediabetes. They think it’s caused by PCOS but I can’t get diagnosed with PCOS until the baby is born. I’m really nervous now after how perfectly our first ultrasound went yesterday. It’s the first time I’ve had a pregnancy with a heartbeat after having two losses in the past year. I’m scared what this means for my baby. I’ve been referred to a specialist and I have to pick up a glucose meter tomorrow to prepare for my appointment on Friday. Has anyone else been through this? Were you able to prevent gestational diabetes or is it inevitable like the doctors are making it sound?
