Fasting for glucose testing???

Question

I have my glucose testing in the morning and I forgot to call my OB to ask about preparation. I looked online but saw a lot of different info. What did you do to prepare for your glucose testing? Did you fast? Eat breakfast? Coffee? I really don’t want to have to do it twice. Thanks!

Thanks everyone! I should remember this from my first, but nothing! I think the variety of answers hopefully means it doesn’t make that big of a difference either way. I’m having the 1 hour test so I’ll just limit sugars in the morning. Thanks!

Only need to fast  for the 3 hour test.  You can eat for the 1 hour. If you fail it's not because of the way you eat, your body slows down while pregnant and it affects the way you can process sugar.

My ob said nothing after midnight except water.

My OB said I should avoid carbs and sugar and to eat something like eggs for breakfast and then take the test. I’m planning on doing it next week. They said I didn’t have to fast.

Wow they told me to fast the 1 hour and i failed by 5 points now i have to take the 3 hour

For the 1 hour I didn’t drink coffee because I use creamer. I ate wheat toast with peanut butter and a cheese stick before for breakfast! And I passed! Don’t fast because that will make your blood sugar spike!
