Placenta previa?

Question

Diagnosed at my 20 week ultrasound with complete placenta previa? What should I expect going forward? I need to wait to see the specialist on Monday but the nurse called after receiving my ultrasound results to advise me no intercourse, penetration, even vibrators, and to go to labour and delivery immediately with any bleeding at all. I haven’t had bleeding and otherwise feel good! Feeling nervous, just looking for experiences!

My cousin had that but kept getting bleeding, she had the baby at 27 weeks.

I had a partial previa with my first and, same as the others - pelvic rest, take it especially easy, try not to be on your feet for long stretches, etc. I never had any bleeding, thankfully, but mine also didn’t move. I had a scheduled C-section at 36.5 weeks. My daughter was 5lbs 7oz and had to take a “car seat test” before we were discharged. She had an apnea during and following the test so she stayed monitored in the NICU for a week to ensure it didn’t happen again when we brought her home.

I had this with my middle child. I wasnt allowed to lift anything, no intercourse at all, no penetration of any kid. I was monitored very carefully. I did have him early at 36 wks and he was 5lb 50z.

I had a complete previa at 19+5. Put on pelvic rest. I consider myself lucky bc I had no bleeds and it moved by itself by 27+5...I think everyone’s scenario with how it affects them is a little different. But I do know that my dr said if it didn’t move I would have ultrasounds routine to see if it had moved and if at 36 it hadn’t they would schedule c section at 37 weeks

I had partial placenta previa with my last pregnancy. I had bleeding starting from 17 weeks. I was told no sex, penetration etc as well. My prévia did not move and I ended up having two massive bleeds and the last bleed did result in her coming early at 33 weeks. Most of the time they do move on there own and if it doesn’t move you will most likely have a c-section at 37 weeks.
