Transportation day ๐Ÿ’”๐Ÿ–๐Ÿ–๐Ÿ˜ญ

Not vegan but vegetarian. I was vegan for four years but went back to vegetarianism because it was affecting my health...

Anyway I live in a rural village with a conventional farm in it and today the pigs are being transported for slaughter. I have an eight month old daughter and every day we go out to the viewing window to say hello to the pigs. They are so curious, social, intelligent beings. This morning we went to see them and they were all huddled together outside in their tiny courtyard, avoiding their big barn like the plague even though itโ€™s a cold autumn day, because they just seemed to know what was about to happen. They seemed so depressed and kept standing against the viewing window when we came by, as if wanting us to help them escape. We left, and then the load noises started - banging, clacking, terrifying noises the farmer uses to scare and herd them onto the truck.

Itโ€™s now my daughterโ€™s nap time and I can hear them screaming in the distance as theyโ€™re being forcibly loaded onto the abattoir-bound transport. When she wakes theyโ€™ll be gone, and sheโ€™ll wonder where they are... sheโ€™s being raised to understand that animals are curious beings too, just like she is, and that they are not food.

I just hate humans sometimes. Pigs are not food. All this so that someone can eat a fucking Hot Dog. ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Came here to vent. ๐Ÿ’”๐Ÿ’”
