No blood draw?

Is it weird if your dr just accepts your at home pregnancy tests and doesn't do a blood draw? It happened with my first too. My first visit to the Dr with my first born was at 12 weeks. No blood draw or anything. Just waited it out. The same seems to be happening this time too but they want to do an early ultrasound at 8 weeks to confirm due date.

They said because this is my second they don’t have an appointment until 12 weeks. I was surprised too! I was planning on telling immediate family after my 8 week appointment but now I don’t know what to do..

I wasn’t seen until 11 weeks with my first and never had an HCG drawn and had my first ultrasound at 20 weeks and only had one additional to check due to decreased movement. This time around I have had losses this year so I am having HCG draws and might be seen for a dating and viability scan between 6 and 8 weeks.

My first appt is at 9 wks on October 26th - it sucks but I think it is normal. Some doctors make you wait until 12 weeks!

I was wondering the same thing. I just called my OB and scheduled my first appointment. She’s moved offices and is with a different hospital now and I won’t be seen til I’m 9wks. With my first they saw me to do blood draws and then an ultrasound at 8 Wks. Maybe it’s changed in 2 years 🤷🏻‍♀️
