Pitocin

How would you go about politely telling your doctor you don’t wish to be put on a pitocin drip when you have bubs? I’ve had two children and with my first it put baby into distress and with my second my contractions were too intense to even breathe through. I progressed very well with my second baby and was only on pitocin maybe 30 minutes to an hour but I had my mom call the nurse and ask her to turn it down. She responded that it was already low and she could turn it off for a bit but then would turn it back on. I didn’t want it at all. This time my SO will be with me. How do you enforce your wishes?
