Vbac or 2nd c-section?

Reposting here in hopes I get some responses:

Any mamas on here have a successful VBAC? I had an emergency c-section with my first in February of 2018 after dilating to a 9! Ugh, it was the worst. Awful recovery. And my OB said it was a harder recovery because I had progressed so far into labor , so it was almost like two recoveries. Anyway, I spoke with her about trying for a VBAC today and she said she was neutral about it unless something changes in the pregnancy down the line, but for now it should be ok. My only worry is that she did say women who do try for a VBAC are only about 60% successful going that route. Ugh, I just don’t want to end up in the same position as I was in before being wheeled into the operating room at the 11th hour. But I also don’t want to put my body through a possibly unnecessary surgery if I don’t have to. I’m just at a loss for what to do. My hubby says he’ll support either decision because it’s my body, but I’m just really undecided. Tell me your success stories, or unsuccessful stories. Either way, just trying to make a more informed decision.
