I can’t get my husband to brush and floss...

I know it sounds ridiculous. I hate to admit but we both had less than ideal dental hygiene so I cannot judge. I’m 28 he’s 29. In the last year we’ve gotten more responsible in this aspect and have had a root and scaling, cleanings etc and taking better care overall but I know 99% is home care.

I think partly with me was trauma with the dentist growing up and just laziness. But 3 back to back pregnancies (miscarriages then a full term baby) wreaked havoc on my gums & something had to be done. It’s finally fixed and under control, thankfully only had one small cavity which was filled and I’m starting Invisalign ! I floss and brush daily and my mouth has never been so healthy.

I am however having a hard time getting my husband on board and his teeth are much worse. He’s already had one tooth extracted and is pending an appointment for a root canal on another. I believe there’s also other cavities that need to be filled.

I don’t want him to lose his teeth. For one it’s expensive as hell and I mean who wants to not have natural teeth... & It obviously matters to me appearance wise and just as a future example to our daughter (she’s 8 months)

Any advice ? He’s a very hard worker and wakes up daily at 3 am and works late. He’s a great father and supports me with my small business. So he ends up exhausted and just goes to bed. He’s been flossing in the morning which I guess is better than nothing but I know before bed time is very important. I’ve suggested just doing it right after dinner so it’s done with but that’s obviously a new routine he’d have to try and stick with
