How did you know you were ready for baby #2?

Question

Husband and I are talking about trying for our second baby but I’m not 100% sure I’m ready just yet. I’m not sure if it’s because it’s hard to let go of my one on one time with my son or if I’m really not ready. What made you know you were ready for baby #2?

I was not ready emotionally, physically, mentally, or financially lol.  But I knew I wanted my son to have a sibling close in age more than anything! So we decided to go for it and got pregnant on the first try.  They are 16 months apart and I wouldn’t change it for anything 🙏🏼

My husband wanted our kids 2 years apart, and I wanted them 3 years apart, so we compromised on 2.5 years apart. Since it took us 5 months to conceive our 1st, we started trying several months early in case baby #2 took some time as well (I know that doesn't necessarily guarantee #2 will take as long, but that's all I had to go on). So if I happened to get pregnant right away, they would have been 2 years apart.
I absolutely did not feel ready when we started trying. At first I was honestly a bit relieved for the first several negative tests.
It ended up taking us 15 months to conceive #2, and now I'm so glad we started early. If we had waited until I knew for sure I was ready, our kids would probably be 4 or 5 years apart.
So honestly, it's one of those things where you just have to go for it. It may take some time, and you'll become ready, or it may happen right away and you'll have to just assume you'll be ready once those 9 months are up.

I’ve never been 100% sure because I had a really difficult time postpartum and I’m nervous about that. But it also took us a long time to conceive our son, and we knew we wanted siblings that were close in age, so we started trying when he turned one and said whatever happened we’d just figure it out. 
It did take us a while and we ended up going through IVF, so they’re not going to be as close in age as we hoped after all. Now that I’m pregnant I got back and forth between excited, and (when we have a tough toddler day) what am I doing?? But we always knew we wanted two kids and no one ever said it would be easy lol. So just taking it one day at a time.

My daughter is 3, and I just found out I’m pregnant again. I wasn’t ready and I never knew when I will be ready.. but here we are! This wasn’t a planned or unplanned.. my husband was ready, and I was in between.. so I didn’t take or use any protection and just let it happen when it happens! Didn’t expect it to be this quick.
I’m currently a bit anxious.. to divide my love and I still feel no bond with my current pregnancy but I know love and time grow. I’m excited but scared.

We didn't want a big age difference, we tried to go for a 2 year 9 month age gap we are getting a 3 year 2 month age gap. Though he's been having quiet the attitude lately and tantrums, hasn't been fun with being pregnant .

I started buying baby animals lol! Now we have birds and dogs 😂🙈 And if I didn't fall pregnant in July we probably would have had a whole farm now😂 Soooo excited for my Baba, I just cannot wait!!!!! 😍 The feeling is also different this time, my 1st I was unsure and it freaked me out a bit, this time I'm having amazing dreams about baby!!! 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁

I feel the same way. My LO will be 4 next year and I don’t want a huge age gap between my kids. However I’m an RN and my DH is a postal worker. We barely have time for each other so I don’t think we’re ready to add another one in the mix but I feel that I’m ready for baby #2. IDK IDK IDK 😩

We planned to try for baby #2 once our first turned 1. That was before he was born 😅 we both agreed to keep waiting and my husband was ready before I was. Son turns 4 next Sunday and I’m currently 22 weeks pregnant. I had a friend explain why she only wanted 1 and I realized that wasn’t me. That was enough to realize I was ready. You’ll just know. I am so excited now to have 2 kids and to give my son a forever best friend. Good luck and take your time!

I just knew. Our oldest was 4 and I was ready for a baby. We tried for 14mo to conceive our second daughter.
