How do you teach your lo to go to bed on their own

I sleep trained my baby when he was 6 months but after this last regression he insisnts on sleeping with me and my husband.

We did ferber at 6m and he never made it past 15 mins. Im afraid now he will go hours.

i dont want to leave him all on his own

Personally that feels cruel to me.
