Do you co sleep with your baby 0-6months

Question

So I’ve heard of a few people I know who co sleep with their baby. I thought that wasn’t allowed lol. Curious who does and doesn’t.

I didn't do it with my kids. I followed the recommendation of Drs because I would never forgive myself if I didn't and something happened.  I think it depends on the risks you are willing to take.

I hit the wrong button! I do! And it’s amazing. I swore I would never do it but as soon as I brought my baby home, it was clear that he needed to be with me. Follow the Safe Sleep Seven rules and you are good. La Leche League wrote a book called Sweet Sleep which gives all the facts about bedsharing. I highly recommend it. If you follow the safety rules, the risk of sids is the same as if the baby is alone in the crib.

I co slept with all three of my kids. It's absolutely allowed. Some people discourage this, but mostly because they are to lazy to educate on how to do it safely and because they want to legally cover their asses in case the parent does something wrong and something horrible happens. 
If you are a deep sleeper, on pain med or a smoker or drank alcohol, co sleeping is not for you. 
There's also certain ways to make it more safe. I for example put the cot right next to my bed and strapped it together so it can't move. I took one side off first and put the cot so high, that it's was level with my bed. I moved babys mattress right onto my matters and put a firm long pillow in the gap on the other side to keep it that way and to keep baby from falling in the gap. I cover both the pillow and the baby matress with the fitted bed sheet. You couldn't tell there was a pillow at all. 
That way it was like we were sharing a bed and i could breastfeed without getting up, but we all had our own space and I couldn't roll into her bed, because it's obviously to small for me. 
Don't ever have baby in the middle between two parents! And don't share a blanket with baby. 
If you want to bed share, just make sure you know all the risks and how to prevent anything bad.

It’s not recommended but some do or have the side car bassinet. I only half sleep when I have my son in bed with us. We don’t do it often but we lost power once and when he was sick (9 months now)

You’re the parent and can do what you please it’s suggested you not cosleep. I however co slept with my son since the day he was born. I’m planning to avoid it with my daughter not bc I feel she is in harms way. Ik how I sleep and Ik she’s safe. But it’s super uncomfortable and makes it hard to really sleep. When I co slept with my son I wouldn’t sleep with any blankets and was always freezing and waking up soaked from leaking breast it just wasn’t fun. My baby slept great but I still didn’t.

Can be done safely, but it's not for everyone. I've done it with both of my sons (safely) and it was incredible.
