Why do you think voting in US the presidential election is being so pushed this year?

Obviously voting is a good thing and is our duty as citizens of the US. I'm not saying it's a bad thing. I'm just curious why you think it's being so encouraged this year. I've seen it on all my social media, on ads on TV, etc. I've never seen it pushed this hard in the past (though it may have happened before my time). What are your thoughts?

Look at the shit show this past year, even EYE encourage you guys to vote and I'm not even over there.
Even before 2020, school shootings, police brutality, lack of help and resources for low income families or those in need etc. You guys need someone in power with sense.

I think it’s obnoxious 🤷🏻‍♀️. I’m voting because I understand the importance of it for my family and I. Slogans, signs, commercials, etc. are one thing but the constant reminder widgets on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and celebrities pushing it nonstop is completely off-putting.

Get out the vote has been around a long time.  Facebook has also had the vote widget/frames/I voted badge for at least the last two presidential elections.  I think the biggest reason it seems so pervasive is that more people are paying attention to politics. Not only has it gone from fairly dry news to full-on Jerry Springer crazy circus, but the pandemic means people are spending more time reading/watching news, more time on social media and have more time to get involved.
