Teaching colors/shapes/animals etc

Have you been able to start teaching your little ones colors and shapes and things like that yet? I know I shouldn’t compare because kids do things at their own pace but any time I try to sit with my daughter and look at puzzles or books to teach her, she just runs away. She’s a mover and a shaker and prefers playing outside or pretend play (vacuuming, playing in her little kitchen, pushing her baby in a stroller).

I just want to know if I’m behind the 8 ball or it’s not a rush at this point since I’m a first time mom.
