How my painful and unsuccessful pelvic exams led to my diagnosis of vaginal obstruction

Vicky

Hi everyone.

I thought I should post this for anyone struggling with pelvic exams, pap smears and transvaginal ultrasounds. I always thought there was something going on because of my discomfort during a pelvic examination, but it wasn't until today that we solved the issue. Bear in mind that I haven't struggled having intercourse with hubby, and I've been blessed with a loving and patient man. So hence I put my pelvic issues down to fear. However I was lucky to find a doctor who listened to my concerns and agreed to do a pap smear and exam while under anaesthetic, and also check for any obstructions which all my other doctors had put down to vaginismus. Ivm so relieved to know that there was a partial blockage and that it's been removed. We've also struggled to conceive although all tests appeared normal and having had two confirmed miscarriages too, this really makes sense now. So please ladies if your body's telling you something'off do listen and find someone who listens. I'm 37 now and can't thank my doctor enough for paying attention to my concerns. It's not always on our heads. ❤️
