I bargained for a car!ππ
Everyone! I'm not trying to brag. I'm truly just happy right now! I went into a car dealership and didn't let the sales man trick me or change my mind or coax me into a dangerous car loan.
I went in armed with my information, my research, knowing exactly what I wanted and willing to walk away if my needs and parameters were not met.
I know there is markup (by the way, this was a used car - a 2019 SUV). And although i am not sure how much the vehicle was marked up by, I did know what it was worth.
The vehicle was listed on their site for $32,995 plus taxes and fees. Before taxes that would be approximately $280 bi weekly. I got this car salesman and his manager down. I'm so proud! I got them down to $24,250 TAXES IN. I mean it isn't a savings of a whole lot of money but my payments are $201 bi weekly. On top of which, the previous owner has pre purchased extended warranty which is such a bonus for me! I want what I wanted for $200 bi weekly. And I came damn close to it.
(And before you judge me about financing a used car and how much it depreciates and such, please note that this vehicle brand new off the lot retailed for $48,000. Annnnnd. I am doing this not because I'm poor or so strapped for money that I can only make little payments. Im doing this to build my credit. Have real consistent payments. If i was to buy a car outright for $10,000, it will do nothing to boost my credit. Because having a small $1500 credit card [even though its paid for and i just use it for gas and then pay it off at the end of every month] doesn't show the bank enough credit history to buy a condo! This is an extremely affordable way for me to create a positive credit history for myself! In no way am I breaking the bank by financing this car. I am living below my means! Safely building my credit. Instead of financing something for 50K I'm financing something for 25K)
