Pregnancy weight gain, how much?

This is my first pregnancy and I’m overweight (by height/weight charts) but am wondering how much weight you have gained in your pregnancy? 
Right now I’m 15 weeks and have gained 5#, not sure of this is good/bad...

I'm considered "mordibly obese" according to the medical standards and my BMI. My dr (with both of my pregnancies) never seemed to worry about my weight. Maybe it's cause I only gained about 18lbs with my 1st (girl) and as of right now, I'm 37 weeks with #2 (boy), I've only gained 14lbs. I don't have high pressure and passed my glucose tests with both pregnancies. After I had my daughter, I lost all the weight....i hope the same thing happens after I have my son. I am not sure what the highest allowed weight would be for you but it is something you can talk to your doctor if your worried about gaining too much. I eat what I want also...but stay active because I work 6 days a week and have a 4 yr old at home.

My doctor told me that she doesn’t like to see more than 10 pounds of weight gain at 20w. That was literally to only actual about weight gain (or loss) she ever said. I don’t know if that’s a standard preference or just her opinion.
