TTC w/irregular cycle

Hi everyone! My husband and I are almost 24. We have been trying to conceive for about 6 months now. My cycles are very irregular being anywhere from 42-56 days between each one. Sometimes more sometimes less. I was on bc for about a year to regulate my cycle (which worked) due to going over 200 days without a period. Before bc and the 200 days with out a period, my cycle was pretty regular 29-31 days. My dr says all blood work came back completely normal but doesn’t want to see me again until another year. Going to be purchasing some ovulation strips soon. Any thoughts, tips, or recommendations?
