I made a list for my daughter's birthday because people were asking what to get her. On the other hand ym friend was told not to do it because its like asking for gifts? I've never heard of that whats the norm/okay thing to do?

If people are asking what to get for her, it solves you having to repeat the same suggestions over and over. As long as you only send it to people who ask then i think it’s fine. I’d also say to people you send it to that it’s just suggestions, they’re welcome to get something else of course, but if they are really stuck and want to get a gift then feel free to get one of the items on the list.

I do this for my toddler! It’s so much easier to just send a link to those who ask. But that’s the key point - only send to those who ask!! No one has ever turned their nose up when I do it, and I have some pretty conservative/traditional in-laws lol

Unless you’re spam-sending it, I don’t think it’s a bad idea. Especially if you don’t have kids of your own or don’t get to spend a lot of time with them, it can be hard to find things to buy

If you’re wanting specific gifts for her, I’d do one. It also makes it easy for people to order and have it shipped to your house. My nieces did wish lists for their birthdays this year, which was awesome because I just dropped shipped everything to their house during covid.
