Diagnosed today 😞

So, a little back story...

I failed my one hour, but passed my 3hr glucose test. That was the end of that conversation... fast forward to 31w and some odd days when I had my final growth scan with MFM, and they tell me my baby is apparently measuring in the 99th percentile, and his abdomen is large, and he already weighs roughly 6lbs 1oz. So my OB calls me the next day and states that they want me to begin checking my sugars 4x a day. Okay fine.

Today I had my check up, and at this point had completed 1 week of checking my sugars, and they decide, between his size and my morning fasting sugars, they are diagnosing me as diet controlled gestational diabetic. I now have to continue checking my sugars, and have been referred to speak to a dietician whom I’m scheduled to see 11/10.

Now, I genuinely feel like my son is large (this isn’t my first) but everytime he moves my whole belly shakes and it hurts. I get sharp pains I’m assuming near my cervix and my OB claims it’s probably his size and the way he’s rolling around in there.

Well I made the mistake of googling gestational diabetes, I wanted to get an idea of what to expect... low and behold I come across all of the issues associated with large babies and basically what could go wrong. Today at my appt my fundal height was 37w (I’m only 33w 5d) and the doctor was like ‘whoa, he’s a big boy’... annnnnnd now I’m stressed. Prior to the GD diagnosis I was advised I would be induced at 39w due to my chronic hypertension, but now that’s under control but his size isn’t?

So I’m wondering if anyone has experienced anything like this? Has anyone been told they had a huge baby and delivered vaginally without issues? Did they have to induce you and if so when?
