Buying a sofa 🤔
Hey everyone 👋
Sooo adulting is great but sometimes we make mistakes.
And I know they can sometimes be unavoidable as we need to learn in order to keep going forward. BUT! I think definitely value the opinions of fellow adults who can give input and different perspectives on things right?!
I feel like a huge part of being an adult is (unfortunately) the topic of financing or buying outright or leasing along with new or used. This could be with a house, a car, furniture, a TV.
Soooo I'm a lover of gently used. Within reason. Im not buying second hand undies! But second hand dining room table? Hell. Yes.
I have been searching high and low for a new (or new used) sofa. Nothing has worked out. And the sofa i have was given to me by a family member to simply get me started (I'm grateful but its been two years since I was given this 16 year old sofa and I need something newer now !)
So since I cant find anything second hand right now (I was hoping to spend no more than $500 used) is it a good idea to look at the big box stores for a brand new one? And in doing so, financing the sofa for 2 years. Good idea? Bad idea?
