Am I Never Ovulating??

Hello! 28 yr old healthy female using ovu strips to avoid pregnancy. I've been using them for over a year and I'm really frustrated that my strips never actually read that I am ovulating... Any tips or tricks ppl can offer for getting good readings?

I try to test in the afternoon and when I am not overly hydrated.

I have used two brands from Amazon, both with 4+ star reviews.

Is the ovulation window really so small that I can miss it all the time? I want to get an accurate read of when I'm ovulating but I just must be doing something wrong :(
