Stressed

So my grandparents live out of state and my grandma has fractured several bones in the last month and a half by falling. They were originally coming out on my scheduled due date which was 10/21 but she had fallen broken her tail bone, back and she had surgery to fix her back and they just found that she broke her femur as well, so they’re not coming out which I understand and agree that it’s not the best decision right now. Well now I’ve let my parents talk me into driving out there to see them this weekend before the baby is too much out of his newborn stage (he was born 10/16) and honestly I’m so stressed and anxious about it. They only live about 6 hours away, but being in the car with a newborn for 6 hours seems like a lot, and he already doesn’t like the car seat as is. We also just figured out breastfeeding, and are still having some issues with it so being in the car is going to make for feeding times to be tricky and I’ve been pumping afterwards, so that’s going to be a mess too I feel. I guess I just needed to vent because I do want my grandparents to meet my son but I wish it could be under different circumstances.

So I guess if you’ve made it this far do you have any tips for traveling with a newborn?
