How are you feeling October mommies?

I feel like I’ve been very lucky. My baby sleeps and eats well, I physically feel great, and life is feeling normal again. I’m still very tired and can barely get things done that I need to everyday but it’s manageable. My husband is back to work full time and I have no family or friends in this country (aside from one very friendly neighbour), so I’ve made a conscious effort to carve out “me time” everyday by going for a walk with baby to the coffee shop and getting a coffee to go and walking back home. About 30-45 minutes all up. It keeps baby and myself happy. Also this week (3 weeks pp) I’m making an effort to get dressed into clothes everyday that I wouldn’t be embarrassed to open the door in if someone stopped by. Nothing fancy but something half a step up from pjs at least. Every single day is like I never get a break but I feel like I have accomplished nothing at all, but it’s so rewarding when I snuggle up with my little one. The first week was very rough I didn’t know if I’d get the hang of this whole mom thing but I’m getting more confident day by day.

It’s been a rollercoaster for me. The first two weeks were horrific. I was someone who loved to sleep so to have it torn from me abruptly really messed with my body. (I honestly felt like I was on a drug I felt so out of it). My recovery from birth was ok but I was NOT prepared for the ordeal that was breastfeeding.
I didn’t have the instant bond (in fact my baby felt like someone else’s for a while!) and I’m not madly in love with motherhood. There are some sweet moments and my little girl is so gut wrenchingly cute that I almost enjoy it. I try to bask in those moments when they arrive.
All the medical data, and all the professionals say my husband and I are doing great. I feel like I’m clinging to normality by my fingernails. That’s why I voted OK lol

Today I’m feeling great.. yesterday I felt horrible.. a few days ago I felt okay.. it fluctuates often 😂

I wouldn’t say great but I’m feeling pretty good. Mentally I’m so much calmer this time around, this is my second baby. And physically I’m feeling way better now, I had my second csection & the first two weeks were rough. Just tired mostly & I just don’t function well on limited sleep. And my back pain is insane, I think just from my body adjusting to not being pregnant anymore & night feeding has my back all messed up!

I’m feeling great my daughter is almost 7 weeks old been doing 7-8 hours at night between feeds since 4 weeks old I’m a lot calmer this time round she is baby no4 and just goes with the flow and fits into my days perfectly she does grunt a boy at night but once she burps she is all good
