Can you join the army for 1 year?

So next year I’m moving from home to go university for 4 years however I’ve always been interested in the army. Just wondering would I be able to join for just a year before I go to uni

No but you can join the National guard in whatever state you’re currently residing in and do college still.

No. The minimum enlistment time is two years for certain positions but most enlistments are 4 years active and 2 years reserve.

A one year contract is not at option.   All contracts are eight years; not all have to be active.  For instance, I signed a contract to do six years active reserve, two year inactive ready reserve.   
Have you considered ROTC?   That would pay for your college and you'd get military experience.
