How are you guys celebrating your kids’ birthday parties this year?

My daughters’ 5th birthday is next month. What are you guys doing to celebrate for your little ones?

We decorated the house the night before so when she woke up she was surprised with balloons and a bunch of toy story decorations. We also got her a cake and used Facebook for a video conference call so my in-laws could see her and sing happy birthday while she blew out her candles.

My son turned 11 in September. We did: favorite meal for dinner, favorite dessert, a few gifts. 
We hadn’t seen his cousins since January, so we surprised him by inviting them to the backyard. We all stayed outside, distanced, and he opened gifts. They brought donuts that spelled out Happy Birthday.
All super low key and safe as possible. 
My daughter turns 9 in January, and we will do essentially the same thing.
It’s one birthday - no need for me to be all dramatic. They’ll have many more birthdays and many more parties, but for one year, we will play it safe 👍🏼

Our little guy turned two towards the end of April when we were on complete lock down. We spent the day doing absolutely everything that he loves and made him his favorite meals. I made him banana confetti cake birthday muffins and basically just spoiled him a little extra all day long. 🥰

I’m having a get together but in our cases every one who is coming is people my husband and I are in contact with daily. His brother his best friend all work at the same company . My mother in-law visits weekly . And the other few people that we are in contact with threw the other people mentioned. So we are still having a gathering at our home 🤷🏼‍♀️
