Im adopted and I've always been interested in learning about my genetic history. I have narrowed down my choices to the 23 & me or the Ancestry DNA kit, but I am open to considering other options.
Have you used one? 
Which one is better in your opinion & Why?
What was your reason for choosing the one that you chose?

I did 23 and me because I was also interest in the genetics/health side of things. I liked being able to see more of my ancestry and health information. Ended up finding a random person that was a genetic match pretty close to me. After some digging, we ended up finding out that she is the child of my great grandfather and his mistress that was given up for adoption. It was extremely uncomfortable telling my grandmother and her two sisters what I had found out and that they have a sister. No one in the family knew about her. Definitely not doing any more genetic testing after that bombshell. 😅 Not trying to scare you, but be prepared for the remote possibility of finding family secrets. Lol

I don’t know if 23 and me gives you the ability to make family trees and see distant cousin matches or close family matches. I am a big fan of ancestry. They also provide historical info on your regions
