tonsillitis?

do i perhaps have tonsillitis? a few days ago it was really hard to swallow anything including water until today, i can swallow much more easily.

I’ve had a fever, the sweats all sorts. I’ve taken over the counter medication for bacterial infections and it seems to be working, all my phlegm and mucus is coming out nicely.

But should I still get it checked out although i’m feeling a little better? (I’m slightly scared to get surgery to get them out)

any home remedies?

(mind my yellow teeth, i do smoke but since i’ve got these symptoms i’ve completely stopped, threw the packet away)
