Moving to Ireland

Jae

Hey there ladies! I was wondering if there is anyone on here who has been through or knows someone who has been through the process of moving to Ireland as a citizen of a non-EEA country?

My husband and I are from America. We have Irish heritage but it’s further back than our grandparents so we couldn’t qualify for citizenship. I believe the only possible way for us to move there would be for my husband to get work there. He is currently a factory worker here in NJ, but is hoping to go back to school to become an engineer. It will take a little time as we have a one year old son and a second little on the way, but I suppose my question is if anyone would mind chatting with me about our chances of moving to Ireland when he gets a degree?

I’ve heard that Engineers are needed in Ireland and so that he might be quite likely to get a job even as an American. Just curious if anyone knows the process.

I wish moving to a country of heritage were easier 😂 Thanks ladies!!
