Binkies - When to wean off?

My little guy still loves his binkies and cannot sleep without them (one to suck on, one to hold in his hand).

I’ve been limiting them to just nap time and bedtime for the past 3ish months and he’s been fine and hasn’t been looking for them during the day.

Honestly he sleeps so well all night with them and his teeth are growing in great. Would I be crazy to wean him off of them soon? Is a goal of having them completely gone at 3 too old? My husband was a thumb sucker until 5th grade and had to be hypnotized to kick the habit 🤦🏼‍♀️ lol

Just worried about taking away his soothing methods that allow him to sleep so soundly.
