Another baby or no?

Question

Torn between having another baby so my little one can have a sibling or to let her enjoy being a only child until she’s about 6 or 7. Thoughts.

Actually just found out we’re pregnant again! The pandemic just kind of reaffirmed that she needed a sibling. The youngest of her cousins is 8 years old, and my friends’ kids have a couple of years on her too.
I’m 37, so we needed to try sooner rather than later.

My 13 m/o loves other children. It was a no brainer for us to want to give her a sibling to grow and play with. (Due in July). 😊

We always said we wanted 2 children, about 4 years apart. Sometimes I feel like I want to be pregnant and have another now. Other times I don’t think I could handle 2 right now, especially with the pandemic and working from home while caring for my son. 
Then other times I don’t even know if I want a second. Just with the state of the world, how much we both hated the newborn phase and just how much I didn’t realize we’d worry about things and how hard it is to not be able to protect our son all the time (sounds dumb, I know). 
No matter what I want to be pregnant again. So if we don’t have another child I’ll absolutely become a surrogate though

I guess it depends on your life circumstances. My kids are 2 years 8 months apart and it is the perfect age gap. I definitely wanted a sibling for my oldest. If you’re young and want to wait and see how you feel in 6-7 years then go for it!

My nephew didn’t get his first sibling until he was 6 1/2. He hates it. It’s kinda got better the last 4 years but I remember him saying he wished it was just him and his mama like how it used to be. Prob isn’t best to wait so long. Plus the bigger the gaps the less likely they will hangout until they are older. My besties kids are like 7 years apart and they didn’t have much to do with each other until they were wayyy older.
