Infant car seat or convertible?

Question

With our second baby, seriously considering just forgoing the infant seat and going straight to convertible. I remember the infant seat being super helpful in transferring the baby to the car and vice versa, but can’t remember what the other benefits might be. When going out will either be baby carrying or using the stroller which converts to bassinet. For anyone who went straight to convertible, pros/cons/regrets? Thanks!

We used an infant seat with our first and will 100% be going that route again. I usually baby wear out and about, but if she falls asleep in her seat I’ll let her stay asleep there versus waking her up to put on the carrier. Way easier for in and outs especially with an older child because you need to keep them safe and can’t focus on just soothing baby. Infant seats are so affordable too, definitely worth it IMO

We have used this one from birth.  I love it and never wanted an infant seat. Besides the fact your newborn shouldn't be sleeping long periods of time in a carseat for safety I thought lugging the seat around was a hassle. She has always woken up when the car stops anyways and the times she is super tired I just move her from the seat and she stays asleep. I had a carrier or we used a stroller but never felt I missed anything with no infant seat and I only had to buy 1 seat. Everyone will have a preference but I have been super happy with our choice. Pregnant with #2 and buying another.

I have done the capsule until 6mths then convertible also did a convertible carseat from birth option too. With this one I am choosing to get a convertible carseat 0-8yrs. I did like the benefits of having the capsule great for cooler temps as you can have bubs rugged up and strapped into the capsule before leaving the house but with this child being born in warmer mths I would prefer something with better airflow so bubs doesn’t over heat.

My baby was born in December, in the Midwest. It was a lot easier for us to do the infant seat. When we have the second I would still do the infant seat. My dad bought a convertible seat so if he watches grandkids, he’s got a seat that works for different ages. 
We moved to the convertible seat at 10.5 months. Baby could have stayed in the infant seat longer but it was getting harder to lug it around.
