I saw this picture just scrolling through Facebook today:

& I couldn’t help but to start thinking how true it was for my husband & I.

We met when 3 years prior to starting a romantic relationship. We were internet friends for that period of time. We lived 2.5 hours apart.

But when my husband & I first got together we didn’t have nice dinner dates or movie dates. Our first time spending time with each other after becoming “official” consisted of him catching the bus to travel an hour to meet me at the hospital to sit in the cardiac ICU waiting room with me & my family all day (even all night one time) for my dad. I didn’t even ask him to do that. I told him what happened over the phone & he said “I’ll meet you there”.

He was the one by my side when I got the call that my dad had passed away. He took me to his apartment that night so I wouldn’t have to go back to my dads house without him so soon. He offered his bed to me & he insisted on sleeping on the couch (even though I told him 100 times I didn’t mind sleeping on the couch & that he could just have his bed). He didn’t hesitate when I asked him to come to dads memorial. He never hesitated to comfort me when the grief got overwhelming (which happens a LOT).

He saw me at my absolute lowest low extremely early on in the relationship & still stayed right there to support me.

Now here we are, almost 4 years later. We’re married & have 2 beautiful children.

That quote just hit so close to home for me & I’m curious if anyone else’s story reflects this as well.
