Did I get a membrane sweep without knowing?

I’m 38+6. Went in for my 2nd pelvic exam. Home now and I’ve started wondering if I just got a membrane sweep with out knowing.  It was extremely painful. Not like the first pelvic exam I had. That one was uncomfortable but that’s normal for me. This one was horrible. Pain. She was in there feeling around. Asked “where’s the head” to herself. Like thinking out loud. She saw I was in pain Bc she said I know “im sorry”. Then she was done and it hurt as she came out. Said I’m about a half cm dilated and baby is still high up. They’ll see me in a week. I got ip from the exam bed and it was a little wet which I thought was weird and I even cleaned it up before getting dressed. Does this sound like a normal pelvic exam? I’ve had some light cramps and tightening in belly after my appt. but nothing crazy. I’m only wondering Bc it was oddly painful compared to the first pelvic exam I had.

Sounds like she couldn’t reach your cervix with her finger (your high up) and she was doing a cervix check to see if you were dilated

Ove had that feeling with both. So to me sounds like your just not dilated enough  so when she stuck the finger in its intense. Which happened my first check as i was only half a cm aswell. ....then she checked me the week after at 1.5cm and it wasnt pain like that at all. Uncomfortable but not like the week before. Then this week 2.5cm and got a sweep. But my cervix is super low so was barely even Uncomfortable as she could easily go right in 
I would definitely  ask her next visit to clarify what you felt but this is kinda how id see it

It could be who did it. I have had 3 cervix checks
and they have all been a little different, I was the most dilated at this last one but it was by far the most painful, I think it was how the lady did it. I have had a different doctor each time so that’s what I am chalking it up to

This happened to me too when I had my cervix checked to see if it was dilated. It was closed and she said it’s possible I could bleed and contract from it. It was definitely painful

They were just checking your cervix, I personally think it’s very painful

I have had that from a normal pelvic without a sweep this is my second pregnancy. It just depends on how your cervix and pelvic muscles are feeling at the time. I’ve noticed the longer and higher they have to go the more pain because idk if its just me but like I start tensing while they are still checking which makes it worse. But last week my husband and I couldn’t even have sex because my pelvic muscle were too tense/swollen then the next day they were fine. And I alway feel wet after the exam but they use a lot of lube.
