Naming one son after another silly?

Hi my only son is called James he's 10, I have 4 girls and 1 bonus girl, currently pregnant but not finding out the gender. My son has been desperate for a brother, my question is would it be weird or silly to use his name James as a middle name if this baby is a boy? The name we like is Lucas, so it would be Lucas James. Thanks in advance 😊

Could end up making the kid feel like you ran out of name ideas and named him the same as his brother. Or it could be special. It’s tricky.

If it were me, I’d want my very own first and middle name! As a mom, I also like to give my kiddos their very own names to make their own. I love so many names that I love that I get to choose different names specifically for each child. That’s just me, though. 😊

My mom's family all do that a tradition, so all the girls have each other's name as a middle name, and they love it ☺️

I was going to surprise him with the name when babies born (if it's even a boy lol), I think he'd be really pleased with it. But obviously if he absolutely hated it, which I doubt, then you get so many days before registering babies name so easily changed before it's "official".
I just didn't know if it was weird to name one after another?

That’s cute & I seriously thought you meant like James and James Jr or something. I know Jr is for naming your son after your husband but I had a friend and his name was Isaac and his little brother was Isaac Hr it was really weird to me. 
But this situation is not. I think that’s a cute name

Personally I wouldn't due to the amount old times I have to yell at my oldest  and youngest for fighting/arguing and when I do I use voth of their full names and it would definitely get confusing if one name was the same
