What are your plans with having a new born during the holidays

My husband wants us to go to the family gathering but I don’t want anyone that isn’t immediate family near our newborn not until she’s at least a month due to the whole cold/covid season. We live in Arizona and the rates of cold/covid are at a peak. Anyone else planning on missing the celebrations?

So to each their own. I am pregnant so we are not partaking in gatherings. We were doing small visits with parents until my MIL got COVID. Our state is bad and most everything is closed but grocery stores. We are going to be a bit cautious.

I'm not due until January but I wouldn't take my newborn to a large gathering until at least a month old. I just wouldn't be comfortable with it but its completely up to you whether or not you want to. If its going to cause you to stress out then don't do it and just enjoy the holidays at home!

So my son was born mid way through October last year, he spent half of November in hospital with some kind of virus that someone gave him at a family gathering. He had to have lumbar punctures, IV antibiotics etc. Was so frightening. My future children I will be much more cautious, I regret that my actions out him in harm's way.

I have a 5, 4, 1 year old and currently 27 weeks pregnant we are staying home this year.

I won’t have a newborn yet, but we will be doing everything virtually for the holidays regardless. Contactless gift drop offs to both sides of our families.
