I was on here a while ago and someone said they had eaten an alcoholic food knowing they were pregnant. Which is wrong to me but whatever that’s not the point. I read and have heard a lot say that a glass of wine is generally safe for pregnant women, what do you guys think of that? Would you drink even the slightest amount of alcohol during your pregnancy? I’ve heard many say that doctors approve of this.. ( not for me by the way I don’t drink never really have I was more of a pot smoke than drinker just curious)

It’s 9 months of sobriety for your unborn child who relies on you for their health, safety, growth, and development. The baby literally cannot make choices for himself or herself. Please don’t drink (not just you OP, but anyone who’s pregnant).

I absolutely would not risk it and don’t understand women who do. It’s 9 months without a drink. If you can’t handle 9 months without a drink you need to reassess your relationship with alcohol.

What’s an alcoholic food? I don’t drink during pregnancy, but I also don’t drink when I’m not pregnant. But I know lots of people who have an occasional glass of wine while pregnant. But I mean I eat penna alla vodka, it’s made with vodka but you burn all the alcohol off so I’m not worried. I also cook with white wine, again the alcohol is burned off during cooking. Is that what you mean by “alcoholic food”?

Why? If someone can't even resist drinking alcohol if pregnant then how are they going to care for that child. There will be so many more bigger sacrifices to be made when training up a child. And if a small sacrifice like that is not possible, I see a major problem.

I would never take the chance! I don’t drink often but I do have an occasional drink. I won’t have one between ovulation and my period even. I also know that alcohol cooks out of food if you use it to cook with but I also avoided that while I was pregnant. Anything I can do to protect my child is what I’m going to do.

I was trying to pick heck no and accidentally hit its fine. Is there a way to undo that??? You definitely shouldn’t risk it if you know your pregnant.

There's no ethical way to determine the actual amount of alcohol that might be safe, if there is one, because that involves giving pregnant women alcohol in order to see what amounts cause which damage to the fetus. That study will never happen, which is why the official recommendation is and will always be zero. 
There is anecdotal evidence and some survey studies (survey studies are very unreliable for many reasons) that say a glass or less every so often is unlikely to cause harm, especially in the third trimester. But there is no statistical basis for this, because there can't be. It's a best guess, on very little data. 
I wouldn't judge a woman for the odd bit here and there. I don't drink at all, just to be safe, but I don't get worked up if someone else does. If you're drinking pretty regularly while pregnant, or enough to get drunk, or both, then you need to see a doctor because there's a huge chance that the baby will have issues.

Not to drink. Eating food with alcohol that is cooked into it  (like beer cheese) the alcohol cooks out. There’s not harm in eating cooked foods that had alcohol as an ingredient.
