When is a good time to tell family?

I'm nervous to tell family and friends because i'm scared of miscarriage... When did you tell you family? I'm currently 5w3d will be 6w2d at my first ultrasound

We told our parents at 6 weeks because they’re in our Covid bubble. I go for an ultrasound tomorrow, and provided everything looks good, we’ll tell our families and close friends this week (8-9 weeks). I’ve had miscarriages before, but they have been earlier than this. To us, though we’re not out of the woods yet, if the baby is progressing and there is a heartbeat at this point, it’s a good time to let them know. If we lose it, then we don’t have to pretend to be ok with our loved ones.

I’ve always told my family right away and then extended family, my husbands family and friends around the end do the second trimester. 
We wait to tell his family because his mother is just ver opinionated and always trying to one up everything say.

With our first we told our parents at 11 weeks and everyone else at 12 weeks. 
With our second (which followed a missed miscarriage) we told our parents and siblings at 13 weeks. We told a few close friends at 17-18 weeks and everyone else at 20 weeks.

We’re telling people at Christmas at 14-15 weeks. We had our first ultrasound last week, so know that baby is doing well.  I waited this long with my first, too. I like having the secret just with my husband for awhile. Plus, I really just feel like crap. I want to enjoy all the congratulations and happiness when the puking and nausea have subsided a bit.

I won't have a choice to tell my family at around 8 weeks because I won't be drinking on Christmas and they will automatically know😑 It least i'm getting a ultrasound before then

We immediately tell anyone we would want to have as support if something did go wrong. Which means I'm 7 weeks and my mom knew as soon as I saw a positive test and his mom and our siblings knew about a week after. We've already had one loss and we wouldn't want to go through that alone. 
A few more family members will find out after we've seen the heartbeat and everyone else will hear probably after we start our bi-weekly screenings in the second trimester, around 16-18 weeks, now that I'm high risk.

My parents and a few close friends of ours know and we’re 7w4d
If all is still going well by Christmas we’ll probably announce which would make us like 10/11 weeks? 
It’s just remembering that miscarriage can happen and should you lose the baby, you will then have to tell those that know about the pregnancy. 
But at the same time, pregnancy loss can happen at ANY time, from the moment of conception until your due date so there’s never a gauranteed 0 chance it won’t  anyway. It’s just more common to happen in the early stages.

I would have wanted them to know and to had their support if I did have a miscarriage.
