Going to work after loosing mucus plug?

My mom and husband are both saying I should stay home. My doctor said I’ll be having the baby any day as I was 3cm dilated and progressing well at my last appointment . She stripped my membranes Thursday and I’ve been having irregular contractions for the last 2 weeks. The stripping made them much worse and more frequent. I told my job I’d work until the 15th or until I go into labor. I really don’t want my water to break at work and I’m nervous about going in because everyone is telling me I shouldn’t. I’m 38 weeks and 2 days and have been loosing my mucus plug in pieces since yesterday. What should I do? Since I’m still in “pre-labor” or early labor or whatever it’s called lol should I just try to finish the week?

I think it honestly depends on how far away your work is from your house and the hospital. I read on one of your comments that you do not plan on returning to work after the baby comes so I personally would rather just stay home if you can swing it financially.

The mucus plug can regenerate itself. It can literally still be weeks until birth. I first lost mine at 33 weeks with my first. Went to hospital because I had no idea what it was. I had her at 42weeks! So almost two months later and after 4days of induction via emergency csection. Mucus plug doesn't say anything about when labour is going to start

My first pregnancy i lost my mucus plug and was dilated to 4 for a few weeks with nothing happening. I went over due date and had to be induced.
I would go but leave if I started having regular contractions. In my experience dilation means nothing, but the choice is up to you.

I’d go. It was still a couple weeks after I lost mucus plug before I went into labor. If your water breaks you leave. That’s not super likely but if it happens it’s not a huge deal. And most births take hours so not a huge rush.

I lost my mucus plug and had contractions from 34 weeks until my due date, doesn’t mean labors necessarily near, I’d still go to work.

I would go to work it could still be awhile before you even go into labor

I would go to work. At least, for me, if I start mat leave anytime before baby comes, those are days I won’t have w baby. I would risk going into labor at work if it meant more days at home w baby.
