Root Canal- 3rd Trimester?

Question

Has anyone had a root canal in their 3rd trimester? Is it safe? Was baby ok? I am just worried about the X-ray and anesthetic they use. I have a tooth that is acting up again and the dentist told me next time it happens I will need a root canal. I am 30 weeks pregnant and not sure if I should get it done or tough it out till baby is born...

If it were me I would wait until after baby is born.

I am currently waiting for a root canal (26 weeks now, went to the dentist early October and est treatment will be end jan) I will be 3rd trimester by the time it happens. Dentist didn’t do X-rays and when I have it the anaesthetic will just be local which I believe is safe. I asked a couple of times and they said it’s defo safe while pregnant

I suggest ask your ob.
My friend had it done during pregnancy, because it was bad. It was worse left undone than do it. Doctors just are better at weighing the risks and benefits.

I’ve got a sore tooth too, trying my best to wait until the baby comes. Atleast it isn’t too long now

I needed one and my OB refused the release papers for it. She agreed and sent permission for the x ray at 15 weeks. But when they said I needed a root canal the OB said no. She said its to much on me and baby. 
I didnt know I would need permission from an OB but the dentist here in U.S.A Georgia would not touch me without OB consent

If it’s something you have to get done now, I’d consult your OB first to make sure it’s safe.
