FET Timeline?

Hi- I was just on the phone with the nurse and she was saying the whole process of IVF is basically 13 weeks... Is that right? I could have sworn the doctor said 9 when we spoke to him...
Basically 4-5 weeks leading up to egg retrieval then another 7-8 weeks until transfer after that... is this right?! 
She said because they don’t want to start the meds on you if no embryos come back normal... has anyone’s Drs started them on the meds anyways it a high number made it to 5 day ? 
This process just keeps growing and I’m second guessing doing it 😞

I went through my first round of IVF in 2018 and it was very long. I was on a long protocol and didn’t know what to expect. I was on birth control for 3 weeks, so it was 7-8 weeks from start to retrieval day. Then I had to take a month off due to risk of OHSS, and then it was another 7-8 weeks for the FET process. I did not do pgs testing. My entire cycle was May 2018- October 2018. It was successful so obviously very worth it. I know it’s hard to see that kind of timeline but keep the faith and stay positive! My first cycle would have been a fresh transfer but we got no blasts so about 4 weeks between start and transfer (which obviously didn't happen), then I switched clinics and my second cycle I did prep meds for 2 months before even starting stims, then a mock transfer after retrieval , then my lining went bad during my first transfer cycle so it was more like 20 weeks between the start and my transfer. So worth it because my transfer worked.  I know it's hard not to want to rush and it feels like forever, but try to trust the process! Your doctor will usually recommend what they see the best results / success with. And setbacks unfortunately happen ALL the time. So you have to be flexible . Wishing you luck!

If you don’t do testing you can jump right into the next cycle but with PGS you have to skip a cycle.    It’s not a bad thing.   Let’s your body calm down and return to a more normal state post retrieval

Egg retrieval cycle was about 5 weeks. Off cycle for healing and pgs testing. 4 weeks. 3 weeks to transfer plus two weeks to beta. 14 for me but it’s all different depending on how you respond and your protocol.

Not that I wouldn’t do anything to have a baby but just debating if IVF is the best route for us or if we should just keep trying naturally...
