Consultant led pregnancy!?

Question

Hey ladies! 
 
So my last pregnancy i was due April 17th 2020 however I gave birth at 34 weeks exactly on March 6th. I'm currently 8w 4d pregnant with baby 2 and have just had my first midwife appointment over the phone. She said this pregnancy will be consultant led due to my last baby been early. Has anybody had a consultant due to the same reasons and can tell me what it is they do??

I’m having a consultant led pregnancy but due to my age 😂 all they do is see you after your scans to discuss your care and birth plan and give any extra support you might need in terms of information or medicine.  So for me (and probably you) you might get extra scans later on and they will monitor you more closely to make sure all is well. 
I was super nervous before my first appointment but the consultant was wonderful and pretty much just went through the plan and just wanted to know if I had any questions or concerns.  Don’t worry, it’s all fine and just to make sure you and baby are safe.
