How much time off work did you take for retrieval?

Hi everyone!
So I had my ER yesterday and had great results (49 eggs!), but I felt physically awful yesterday and am just not a lot better today. 
Last time, my ER landed on a Sunday and then the next day was Columbus Day so I didn’t have to take any time off from work. This time, I just took yesterday off and woke up today and wished I’d taken today off too. 
I’ve canceled as many meetings as possible and took a codeine, so I’m a little out of it. 
Just wondering if it’s common to need 2 days off (or more) versus 1?

I took a whole week off for the retrieval and it was so worth it. Day before and 4 days after. I couldn’t go up the stairs for over 4 days. I was just a bit weak. Take your time with that many eggs and congrats!

With so many eggs you definitely deserve more time to recover! I’m a SAHM so I didn’t take time off work, but my dr advised at least 2-3 days to take it easy. I honestly felt fine right away after my retrieval (after my anesthesia wore off anyway), but I only had 16 eggs.

Girl! With that many eggs you should take a week off!! Your poor body! I took the day after off which was a Friday and then got the weekend. Even the following week I was struggling at work but it was manageable.

I only took one day and I only got 3 eggs. Definitely take it easy. Your body has been through a lot

I think it varies for everyone and from retrieval to retrieval. Personally I would take the day of and the day after off for sure. Even if I wasn’t in pain I think on an emotional level it’s important to take the time for recovery on a holistic level. 
Also it probably depends on what your job is like. I’m currently working from home so meetings from my couch or bed isn’t too demanding so less of a need to take additional time. 
Do whatever feels best for you. 😊

If you take take an extra day off go for it. I needed 3 as I felt horrible after mine.

Wow!!! That’s the most I have every heard.  Congratulations!  I only took the day of but wish I had taken the next day too.  I think I had 12 and 14 eggs on my retrieval’s.  With 49 I would recommend taking 2-3 days off if you can.  Good luck!

I developed OHSS as well and had to be on Tylenol 3 and have fluid drained. Took in total about a week and a half off and even afterwards started back slowly, 1/2 days for a couple days. 
Best thing you can do for your body right now is rest!!

I took a half a day before retrieval, Bc I was just so done with it, and full day for retrieval. The day after retrieval I was fine. Just had to make sure I sit sloooowly, lol. But I only had 27 eggs retrieved, so that’s half of what you carrying.

My nurse recommended to take 2 days off but I only had 12 eggs retrieved so I felt pretty well to be honest and didn’t really need the extra day for the recovery. I imagine with 49 you will take a bit more time to recover, you would have lost a lot of fluid.
