Bug bites! Please answer *pictures included*

This is on my husband. The first picture is on his stomach and the second is on his back. He had bed bugs years ago, and he said it didn’t look like this, he said those bites were itchy, but not painful and they were more spread out, not in clusters like this, and we’ve checked our couches, bed, pillows, everything. What could of caused this? I’m making him go to the doctor since he scratched it and caused the welts to open but he can’t get in until next week.
