Why does it take so long to get pregnant for some?

Question

Everyone we know is pregnant within 3 months.
Most of our friends have 3 kids, and they've all be married less than us.
We're on month 8 after a miscarriage. We all also had (poorly timed) unprotected sex for 3.5 years before that pregnancy. 
We've done all the main tests and nothing is wrong, but something must be wrong. 
Anyone else getting this panicky feeling that something is wrong/undiagnosed and you're running out of time?
I'm in my late 30s. I don't have years left.

I just turned 38, been ttc for 16 months now. I have used opk, went for checks and tests (I even got myself a second opinion from a different doctor), nothing seems to be wrong but I have never gotten a bfp. I'm sure something is wrong somewhere but the doctors don't seem to think so and it is frustrating.

So technically doctors will count that miscarriage as a pregnancy and therefore (from my understanding) your “time” starts over. But also with you being in your late 30s, if your not pregnant within 6 months it’s recommended you talk to a ￼doctor

Dawn, I understand how you feel. Right there with you. I’ve had a few chemicals and I’m in my late 30s. We are going to a specialist in January, i would suggest a specialist for you also because knowledge is power. We deserve to know the reason(s) or how to make it happen! Good luck
