When do I take out my nipple bar?

Hi all, first post!

I’ve had my nipple pierced for about 2 years now, but now that I am nearly 7 weeks pregnant I’m assuming I’ll need to take it out? As I plan on breastfeeding it’s a choking hazard I’ve heard.

I’m just wondering when the best time to remove it is?

I don’t want to wait too late into my pregnancy, because I imagine a healing and potentially scabby nipple isn’t going to be ideal when breastfeeding a newborn! But I also don’t want to take it out sooner than necessary as I do like it.
