When did you start buying for baby

What was the first thing you bought?

I went nuts with clothes yesterday! It was my first purchase for baby! Furniture is on the way for the nursery and I just couldn’t wait. I’m 21 weeks 4 days. Found out it’s a boy on 12/18.

With my first I waited until after my shower, so we didn’t buy anything until pretty late. We registered at Target, and if you purchase items left on your registry after your shower you get 20% off. I’m now 15 weeks with #2 and haven’t done any shopping at all. Our first was a boy, and this one is a girl, so I will want to buy somethings, but will probably wait until closer to our due date again.

I’ve bought a couple of sleepers and a car seat and stroller after my anatomy scan. However, since this is our first and the first baby in our family for years, I’m waiting until after our shower. I’m buying all the big items expect the nursery furniture (MIL already asked to buy it for us). I don’t want to buy a whole bunch of small things and not need them because I get so much during the shower (diapers, clothes, lotions, etc)

I’m only 5 weeks but hubby and I purchased a little teddy bear rattle and a unisex blanket. We’ll wait to buy more after we find out the gender

I’m 19 weeks and haven’t bought anything yet; I’m 35 and this is our first so we were worried about losing the baby early on and now it’s just more of a “we have plenty of time” and don’t see any need to rush.. my sister is giving me loads of her girls old baby clothes so I won’t need to buy much if anything there and stuff for the nursery, I wasn’t planning to buy till April - due in late may.  Everyone is different though, some people buy right away; some wait or buy if they see a great sale. My hang up was something happening and losing the baby and having the pain of that plus a bunch of baby stuff around..
