Wondering if I should be one and done??

I had a really tough high risk pregnancy {threw up a lot, insulin dependent GD, breech baby & thyroid issues} and a rough C section recovery. I’ve always wanted 2-3 kids but I am still a bit traumatized by my experience and I’m not sure how I will move past it. I still think about having at least one more because I have such an amazing and laid back baby. I wonder if I can get myself through it again. Any advice?

I had an easy pregnancy with both my boys (18 months apart) so I can’t comment on that front. 
However, I had an incredibly traumatic birth with my first (vaginal, pushed for 2.5 hours, vacuum delivery, 16 stitches, very difficult recovery). I was so terrified to give birth to another, but we wanted them close in age. 
My second delivery was the textbook definition of perfect. I was induced due to low fluid at 39+6, I was in labor for less than 4 hours, pushed for 4 minutes and had no stitches. 
You have to do what is best for you, but what happened in your first pregnancy isn’t guaranteed to happen in the next.

You are strong for getting through each day, Mama! My husband would like more children, however I am unsure due to a painful induction and 2nd degree laceration which has caused a painful healing process. Most moms that I talk with say that the process of childbirth is a mere afterthought. I am 2 weeks postpartum and I’m sure that I’m one and done.

You should chat with your doctor about your chances of having another high risk pregnancy. Other than the thyroid issues, I’ve had many friends who had GD and threw up a lot (and other issues) and had subsequent pregnancies that were totally fine. 
One of my girlfriends had a different pregnancy for each of her three kids (GD for one, severe nausea for another, and a completely smooth one for the third). I just had my first child earlier this year, and was so close to being diagnosed with hyperemesis gravidarum until my morning sickness suddenly stopped in the middle of my second trimester. I was always a one and done, but especially during the time I had the morning sickness. Now I’m wanting a second child and willing to go thru it again, because I’m apparently crazy lol

Literally had almost the exact same experience. Don’t really have any advice other than I’m a one and done. That was too rough on my body and I’m heading into age 34 soon here. I just honestly don’t think I could do it again especially with a kid. Maybe if I was still in my 20s I would consider.

It’s hard to say because every pregnancy is different. Could you wait another year and see if you’re in a better mindset? I think my determining factor is if I’d regret only having one kid and I personally would. But also there’s nothing wrong with only having one kid!
