Any mommas breastfeeding with Covid?

I recently tested positive for Covid and I’m devastated. I exclusively breastfeed my baby and I’m scared. Anyone else going though the same thing or have gone through it already?

Had covid when he was 4 months and so did husband. I continued to breastfeed with a mask (we basically wore a mask 24/7). A week later, the baby caught it. He recovered fine though. I read that breastmilk has antibodies from you if you have it, so it probably will help your baby.

I recently went for my covid the 2nd time , b/c my baby wouldn’t stop coughing . He was on 5 months at the time. And they told me if u have covid, they prefer I pump and not do direct contact .  And to Let my husband bottle feed him . I would check with the medical asst who administer the test . I tested negative

Yes keep breast feeding wear your mask all times around baby sanitize the house keep frequently touch places clean at all times you’ll be fine I tested positive in labor and kept babygirl with me the entire time lived in my mask over 37days slept in same room did all motherly things with her I didn’t breastfeed though

I haven’t had covid but I would absolutely continue to breastfeed. It hasn’t been shown to pass through the breast milk, and almost all illnesses don’t go through to your milk. BUT the antibodies do! So anytime I’m sick with either of my kids I will pump like a mad man on top of their feedings to get as much milk as possible. That stuff is sooo good for them.

Wear a mask and keep nursing.  Your baby has already been exposed. You were contagious before you knew you had it. But you don’t have to keep increasing the viral load your baby has to fight off so wearing a mask will minimize the amount of extra virus your baby gets.
