Cramping and bleeding on the pill after a year
I’ve been on the combination pill for almost a year now with little to no problems but for the past 2 weeks I’ve been very lightly spotting, and today I’m cramping and bleeding a bit. My doctor has me taking the active pills continuously because my periods are excruciating (PCOS) and since I’m not trying to get pregnant there’s no point in me suffering through them.
I’m just wondering if anyone else has had this problem? I know it can be normal to breakthrough bleed in the first few months but like I said, it’s been about a year of being on them and I do take them within 45 minutes of the same time every night. I just don’t know what to do, if I should stop taking them for a few days to let my body have a period and maybe reset itself since I’ve been taking them continuously? Or if it might work itself out, or if I should test? I do have unprotected sex pretty much every night and he does finish in me but since I’m on the pill I haven’t thought too much about it.
