When did you take your baby’s pacifier away?

Any tips on how to do this effectively much appreciated. My son is 6 months and can’t sleep without it, I’m dreading this!

I'm waiting longer. My first two didn't take one. They're still little (2 and 4) so they still see a pediatric dentist and I asked him about it, and he said he wouldn't recommend using it longer than 2 y/o. 
It depends for me. I plan on trying around 9 months, but I won't go longer than 18 months. 
My family has dental issues (soft teeth) and my 4 y/o son inherited my family's soft teeth and due to breastfeeding every 2-3 hours during the night until 16 months and also having soft teeth, ended up with cavities that can't be fixed yet.
Thankfully my 2 y/o didn't get my family's soft teeth, but idk if the baby will. So just in case he ends up with the soft and sensitive teeth, I'm wanting to do it well ahead of when our dentist says so. Longest I'll let him take it is 18 months.

Dentist told me 3 years old so that’s what I did with my first and what I am doing with my second who is 2.5. It is so nice to have a way for them to receive comfort in a pinch when out and about or just falling sleep and it didn’t dentist said 3 is fine for teeth.

Our son never took one 5.5 months and still hates them. Our daughter gave hers up on her own about a month after she turned 2.

My son cannot sleep without his. He’s 6 months. I think when I let him start sleeping with a lovey (which will be around a year old) i will probably try to take his paci away. I don’t want to go past a year and a half!

I wanted to do it when he turned 6 months  but he's now 6 months and 4 days and still has it haha🤣maybe at 7 months haha
